GAZA (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The Palestinian ministry of Health in Gaza announced on Thursday that about 105,000 children in the governorates of Gaza and North Gaza have received polio vaccines over the past two days.
The media spokesman for the Ministry of Health, Dr. Ashraf Al -Qudra, said in a brief press statement, “The medical teams have managed to vaccinate 105,909 children within two days since the start of the emergency polio vaccination campaign in the governorates of Gaza and North Gaza.”
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) announced earlier on Wednesday that its medical staff had “vaccinated about 530,000 children against polio in the Gaza Strip up to Wednesday evening.”
UNRWA said in a post on X that its medical crews are working around the clock despite the challenges, in order to reach all children under the age of 10 years in Gaza, to give them the vaccine.
