Gaza, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), 11 Palestinian detainees arrived at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in central Gaza on Wednesday evening, following their release from Israeli prisons.
Local sources reported that teams from the International Committee of the Red Cross transported the released prisoners from the “Kisufim” crossing east of Deir al-Balah to the hospital to receive necessary treatment and undergo medical examinations.
According to the same sources, the detainees arrived in poor health conditions due to torture, abuse, and severe deprivation of food during their time in detention.
The prisoners’ release is part of limited prisoner releases that the Israeli occupation has carried out from time to time, involving several detainees from Gaza after months of imprisonment in Israeli detention centers and prisons. Human rights reports have confirmed that they were subjected to torture and mistreatment.
Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli occupation forces have arrested thousands of people from the Gaza Strip, including civilians and displaced persons, during ground operations and raids. A large number of them remain in Israeli prisons and camps under harsh conditions, amid growing international and human rights demands for their release and to disclose their whereabouts.
