RAMALLAH, (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The Palestinian Prisoner Society (PPS) has said that Israeli occupation forces (IOF) have carried out about 21,000 arrests in the occupied West Bank, including Jerusalem, since the genocidal war on the Gaza Strip started more than two years ago.
In its statement on Tuesday, PPS described the IOF arrest campaign in the West Bank as “the largest in decades,” emphasizing it involved not only mass detentions but also serious crimes such as extrajudicial killings during arrests.
PPS pointed to the Israeli occupation regime’s recent legislative efforts to enact a law permitting the execution of Palestinian prisoners.
PPS also said that Israeli forces demolished today the homes of two prisoners in Nablus and Tubas, describing the measure as part of the collective punishment policy pursued by Israel against the Palestinian people.
