RAMALLAH, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), The Palestine Center for Prisoners Studies reported that the past two years have witnessed the highest rate of extrajudicial executions of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli detention facilities.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the Center said that Israeli authorities executed 32 identified Palestinian prisoners during 2025, following the execution of 43 prisoners in 2024. It added that Israel has continued to kill defenseless detainees through torture, medical neglect, starvation, severe beatings, and other crimes, carried out in full view of the international community and without accountability.
According to the Center, the total number of Palestinian prisoners who have died in custody since 1967 has reached 323. 86 of them were killed by Israeli authorities over the past 27 months, including 32 deaths recorded in 2025. Israel continues to withhold the bodies of those prisoners and refuses to return them to their families.
The Center noted that those who died in detention last year came from across the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including Jenin, Bethlehem, al-Khalil, Tulkarem, Ramallah, and Nablus. Among them were six elderly prisoners and minors, including 17-year-old Walid Ahmed, who died as a result of systematic starvation.
The statement further documented the use of lethal interrogation methods by Israeli investigators, particularly in detention centers such as Sde Teiman, Ofer, and the Negev prison. These methods reportedly included electric shocks, severe beatings, forcing detainees to strip in freezing conditions, the use of police dogs, starvation, and medical neglect, as well as sexual assault and the alleged boasting about such abuses through leaked video footage.
