35,000 Devotees Offer Tarawih Prayers at Al-Aqsa Mosque

OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), Around 35,000 worshipers gathered at Aqsa Mosque to perform the Isha and Tarawih prayers, despite restrictions imposed by Israeli authorities on access to the Old City of Occupied Jerusalem.

The Islamic Waqf Department in Jerusalem reported that approximately 35,000 people prayed within the Mosque’s courtyards in a spiritual atmosphere, amid a heavy deployment of Israeli forces at the gates of the Old City and around Aqsa.

Israeli forces intensified security measures, conducting strict identity checks on young men and denying some entry, as part of ongoing restrictions on worshipers.

Aqsa Mosque continues to receive thousands of worshipers during the holy month of Ramadan, despite tight limitations on access for Palestinians from the West Bank and the imposition of age restrictions at certain times, aimed at reducing the number of visitors.

In recent weeks, Israeli authorities have escalated policies of mass bans and arrests, alongside stricter access controls to the Mosque and efforts to limit Ramadan-related gatherings.
