GAZA (Palestine Foundation Information Center) At least 40 Palestinian citizens were massacred and dozens injured in Israeli airstrikes on a school sheltering displaced families in an-Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza after midnight on Thursday.
The Gaza-based Government Media Office said the Israeli army committed a massacre in a Nuseirat camp after launching aerial attacks on a UNRWA-run school sheltering displaced families.
Local sources said that the airstrikes targeted an entire floor of the school, killing and injuring dozens of civilians, mostly children and women, as they were sleeping.
Last night, spokesman Ismail al-Thawabta said that the Al-Aqsa Hospital was at three times its clinical capacity as dead and wounded citizens continued to arrive from the bombed school.
The Israeli occupation army, for its part, admitted attacking the UNRWA school in the refugee camp, justifying its attack by claiming that Hamas fighters were hiding inside.
