AL-KHALIL, (The Palestine Information Centre)An Israeli raid campaign was carried out at dawn Tuesday in different parts of the West Bank and Occupied Jerusalem.
55 Palestinians were reportedly detained during the raids, mainly ex-prisoners and members of Hamas Movement.
At least two dozen people were detained in al-Khalil. 30 Gazan workers, who were expelled from their work places within the Green Line, were also among those detained.
Al-Khalil’s detainees included Speaker of the Legislative Council, Dr. Aziz Dweik, MP Dr. Maher Badr, MP Sheikh Jamal Al-Natsheh, MP Sheikh Nizar Ramadan, MP Dr. Bassem Al-Zaarir, and former Minister Issa Al-Jaabari.
16 others were arrested in Bethlehem, mostly ex-prisoners, while two youths were arrested in Nablus.
The growing Israeli arrest campaigns in the West Bank came in a failed attempt to abort any anticipated rallies in support of the Gaza Strip.
According to the health ministry, 61 Palestinians have been killed in the West Bank since October 7, including 14 children and women
