7 Palestinians injured in IOF Balata raid

NABLUS   (Palestine Foundation Information Center) Seven Palestinians were injured by live and rubber-coated metal bullets on Wednesday evening during the ongoing Israeli military raid on Balata refugee camp, east of Nablus.

Director of the Emergency and Ambulance Center for the Palestinian Red Crescent in Nablus, Amid Ahmad, reported that emergency teams dealt with seven gunshot injuries—five from live ammunition and two from rubber-coated metal bullets. The injured were transported to local hospitals for treatment.

Additionally, a child was injured in the face after being directly struck by a tear gas canister. Five others sustained bruises due to being beaten by Israeli occupation forces (IOF), and around 50 people suffered from tear gas inhalation.

Ahmad confirmed that ambulance crews evacuated 21 medical cases from inside the camp, including four children, to nearby hospitals.

Local sources reported that the IOF stormed Balata camp early Wednesday morning, closing its entrances and deploying heavily inside its neighborhoods. Several families were forcibly displaced from their homes, and numerous residences were raided and vandalized.

In a related incident, Israeli forces assaulted residents in the town of Issawiya, northeast of Occupied Jerusalem. Snipers were stationed on rooftops, and large numbers of soldiers spread throughout the area, assaulting civilians and spraying them with skunk water. Fires broke out due to the heavy use of stun and gas grenades by the Israeli forces.

Further south, in al-Khalil Governorate, Israeli forces also raided the towns of Sa’ir and Beit Ummar.

According to local sources, soldiers entered Sa’ir and deployed in the Wadi Khneis area, raiding a home belonging to the Al-Faroukh family. In Beit Ummar, troops entered the Al-Dhahr area heading toward Shaab Al-Seer, spreading out near residential homes and raiding the Awad family’s house.

Additionally, a military checkpoint was set up at the entrance to the village of Khirsa, where Israeli forces blocked Palestinian movement and searched vehicles.
