Occupied West Bank (QNN)- Israeli occupation forces shot and killed a Palestinian woman on Wednesday morning at the entrance of Al-Arroub refugee camp in the southern occupied West Bank.
The Palestinian Health Ministry confirmed that the Israeli occupation soldiers, in the early morning hours on Wednesday, opened fire at the 31-year-old ex-detainee in Israeli prisons, Ghufran Warasna, critically injuring her in the chest.
The Red Crescent noted that the Israeli forces prevented medics from approaching her for 20 minutes of her critical injury before allowing them to transfer her to al-Ahli hospital, in the nearby Palestinian city of Hebron, where she was pronounced dead.
The Israeli forces claimed that Warasna approached an Israeli soldier while wielding a knife and was subsequently shot to death. The soldiers suffered no casualties, however.
Warasna was released from an Israeli prison this April.
Since the start of this year, Israeli forces have killed over 50 Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, including veteran journalist of Al Jazeera Shireen Abu Akleh and 13 children.
