Israeli occupation forces shot and killed on Tuesday afternoon two Palestinian men in the village of Deir al-Hatab, near the Israeli settlement of Elon Moreh, east of the occupied West Bank city of Nablus.
The Palestinian Health Ministry confirmed that the Palestinians Saud Al-Titi and Mohammed Abu Draa’, residents of Nablus’s Balata refugee camp, were fatally shot by Israeli forces in Deir al-Hatan village.
The Israeli forces claimed in a statement that four Palestinians had opened fire on the Elon Moreh settlement from a vehicle before being shot by soldiers, alleging that three weapons were found at the scene.
The forces also arrested the bodies of the two Palestinians who were killed.
Ahmad Jibril, the head of the Palestinian Red Crescent Emergency and Ambulance Department, said that medical crews moved a Palestinian youth shot in the shoulder with live bullets to the Rafidia hospital, noting that the Israeli forces prevented medical staff from approaching the other injured Palestinians.
The Ministry of Health added that with the killing of al-Titi and Abu Thera’, the number of Palestinians killed by Israeli forces since the start of 2023 has risen to 98, including 18 children and an elderly woman.
