The Islamic Jihad Movement said on Monday that its delegation’s meeting in Cairo with Egyptian intelligence chief Abbas Kamal was “positive and fruitful.”
In a statement, Islamic Jihad explained that its secretary general Ziyad al-Nakhala’s meeting with senior Egyptian intelligence officials took place in the presence of members of the Movement’s political bureau.
The Movement added that the two sides discussed different issues of mutual interest, including political and field developments and the Israel Israeli aggression against Gaza.
It affirmed that the meeting reflected Egypt’s keenness on alleviating the Palestinian people’s suffering, especially those in the besieged Gaza Strip.
The Islamic Jihad leadership reiterated its adherence to defending the Palestinian people, their land and holy sites and expressed its willingness to promote its relations with Cairo, according to the statement.
