RAMALLAH, (The Palestine Information Centre)The Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS) has said that six Palestinian prisoners have been on hunger strike for different periods in protest at their ongoing detention.
In a press statement on Tuesday, the PPS underlined that prisoner Sultan Khaluf, 42, has been on hunger strike since his detention on the 3rd of August 2023, adding that Khaluf is an ex-prisoner who had been on hunger strike for 67 days during his previous arrest.
“Prisoners Saif Hamdan, 29, Saleh Rubaeyyah, 22, and Usamah Khalil, 23, continued their hunger strike for the tenth day,” the PPS underlined, adding that they are currently held in Nafha prison solitary confinement cells.
The PPS pointed out that prisoner Qusai Khader, 25, continued his hunger strike for the tenth day, while prisoner Kayed al-Fasfous, 34, continued his hunger strike for the sixth day.
The society underlined that al-Fasfous is an ex-prisoner who spent seven years in Israeli prisons, adding that he had been on hunger strike twice during his previous imprisonment terms.
