West Bank, (The Palestine Information Centre)Israeli forces have shot dead a Palestinian man during a raid on the occupied West Bank city of Nablus.
The Palestinian Health Ministry identified the victim as 27-year-old Amir Khalifa, saying he was shot in the head after Israeli forces stormed the village of Zawata, west of Nablus, on Thursday, triggering confrontations.
According to the victim’s brother, Israeli troops shot Khalifa outside the al-Ain refugee camp where he lived.
He was transferred to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead later.
The al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, which is a coalition of West Bank-based Palestinian armed groups, said Khalifa was one of its members and was wanted for more than two years by Israel.
The Tel Aviv regime regularly carries out raids on various cities of the West Bank on the pretext of detaining “wanted” Palestinians. These raids usually trigger violent confrontations with locals.
