GAZA,(The Palestine Information Centre)The Israeli occupation authorities (IOA) retracted the decision to ban all commercial goods leaving the Gaza Strip via the Karem Abu Salem commercial crossing.
The Presidential Committee for Coordination of Goods said that it had been informed of the Israeli decision to reopen the Karem Abu Salem crossing starting next Sunday.
Israel’s military, which controls the crossing points between Israel and the Palestinian enclave, earlier ordered the suspension of all commercial goods leaving the Gaza Strip.
Palestinian border officials said they were told by Israel that the crossing would be closed “until further notice”.
The Karem Abu Salem crossing is the only point of export of goods from Gaza, which has been under a crippling Israeli blockade since 2007. The blockade has exacted a huge economic toll, and most Palestinians in Gaza depend on foreign aid
