GAZA, (The Palestine Information Centre)The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, has called on the Arab and Islamic nations as well as the international community, to assume their religious, national, and humanitarian responsibilities toward providing Gaza with fuel, medical supplies, food, and heavy equipment to rescue the injured from under the rubble.
In a statement on Wednesday, the Movement said: “For the fifth consecutive day, the Zionist occupation army has been committing war crimes in its brutal aggression against our besieged Palestinian people in Gaza. This aggression includes:
1. Systematic destruction of all infrastructure and civilian homes, wiping entire residential areas off the map, and annihilating entire families.
2. Dispossession of a quarter of a million Palestinians from their bombed homes, forcing them to resort to already overcrowded schools as shelters.
3. Cutting off electricity and water supplies to the blockaded enclave, thus posing a humanitarian catastrophe.
4. Direct targeting of the medical sector, hospitals, and ambulance crews.
5. Prevention of the entry of food and medical supplies in a gruesome act that amounts to war crimes and genocide.
6. Bombing of the Rafah crossing, the only way in and out of the besieged Gaza Strip for individuals and goods, to tighten the stifling siege on the densely populated territory.
Given the challenges faced by civil defense, emergency services, and the healthcare sector in coping with the extensive devastation resulting from the nonstop Zionist aggression, the pleas of the injured trapped under the rubble, and the worsening humanitarian conditions, particularly with the depletion of fuel for the sole power plant in Gaza today, Hamas states the following:
First: Hamas urges all Arab and Islamic nations, the Arab League, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and international organizations to fulfil their religious, national, ethical, and humanitarian responsibilities by providing Gaza with all necessary heavy equipment, fuel, and medical and food supplies to save the wounded trapped under the rubble.
Second: Hamas calls on the Arab and Islamic nations and the international community to oblige the occupation to open the crossings and allow the needed medical, food, relief, fuel, electricity, and water supplies in the crowded Strip.
Third: Hamas calls for preventing the Israeli occupation from enforcing its agenda over the collective will of the entire Ummah, represented by the Palestinian people as they stand up defending occupied Jerusalem and its Al-Aqsa Mosque, the Muslims’ first Qibla.”
