RAMALLAH(Palestine Foundation Information Center)The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) launched a new raid and arrest campaign in the West Bank and Jerusalem at dawn Thursday.
At least 77 Palestinians, including women and ex-prisoners, were detained during the raids.
The IOF detained Mrs. Suhail Barghouti (Umm Asif), the wife of the martyr Omar Barghouti, the mother of the martyr Saleh Barghouti, and the prisoner Assem Barghouti, after breaking into her family house in Kober town, north of Ramallah.
After storming her family house in al-Khalil, the IOF also re-arrested writer and political analyst Lama Khater. Two more young girls were detained in al-Khalil.
More than 15 ex-prisoners were also among the reported arrests.
Since Al-Qassam Brigades of Hamas started its military operation, “Al-Aqsa Flood,” against the Israeli army, the IOF has escalated its arrest campaigns in the West Bank and Jerusalem, kidnapping nearly 1,400 Palestinians, not to mention the detention of citizens from Gaza and workers in 1948 occupied Palestine.
Since the start of the year, 6,500 Palestinians have been arrested in Israeli almost-daily raids in the West Bank towns and cities.
