GAZA,(Palestine Foundation Information Center)Saraya al-Quds, the armed wing of the Islamic Jihad, announced on Tuesday the death of the settler “Hanna Katzir,” whom the movement had previously expressed readiness to release for humanitarian reasons.
In an urgent statement, Saraya al-Quds added, “However, the enemy’s procrastination led to her loss of life, In light of this announcement, we reaffirm our non-responsibility towards captives of the enemy amid the savage and barbaric bombardment on every inch of the Gaza Strip.”
Abu Obeida, the spokesman for the Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), had previously announced that around 50 prisoners held by them were killed due to the ongoing Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip since the 7th of last October.
The Al-Qassam Brigades had also stated in mid-October that “22 Israeli prisoners lost their lives due to the continuous bombardment on the Gaza Strip,” before revealing the new toll today.
Hamas had previously announced that it is holding between 200 and 250 Israelis, as well as others of different nationalities, including “senior-ranking military personnel,” and it is seeking to exchange them for more than 6,000 Palestinian prisoners, including children and women, held in Israeli prisons.
