GAZA (Palestine Foundation Information Center) 18 Palestinians have died in Israeli jails since the start of the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip on Oct. 7, the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS) said.
The Palestinian advocacy group said on Thursday that the martyrdom of Dr. Adnan Al-Barash and Ismail Khadr brought to 18 the number of deaths in Israeli custody since the aggression began as a result of torture, medical negligence, and starvation.
The toll only included the martyrs who were declared dead by the Israeli authorities, while Israeli media sources said that 27 Gazan detainees have died in Israeli jails since Oct. 7.
Thousands of Palestinians from Gaza were arrested during the Israeli aggression on the territory.
Under international law, their arrests may qualify as enforced disappearances since Israel has not disclosed their fate or whereabouts.
