RAMALLAH (Palestine Foundation Information Center) Sada Social has documented 5,450 violations against Palestinian digital and social media content in the first third of 2024.
In a recent report marking World Press Freedom Day, Sada Social said that these violations included, among other things, loss of data, hacking incidents, violating privacy, and spying on digital accounts.
According to Sada Social, 32 percent of these violations were on Instagram, 26 percent on Facebook, 16 percent on WhatsApp, 14 percent on TikTok, and 12 percent on X.
73 of these violations targeted visual materials (photos and videos) related to the Israeli genocidal war on the Gaza Strip, Sada Social pointed out.
These social media platforms also contained over 13,000 postings inciting against the Palestinians, calling for starving and killing them and attacking their West Bank villages and towns.
