GAZA (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The Hamas Movement said on Monday that Ismail Haneyya, head of its political bureau, talked over the phone with the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim Al Thani, and expressed his appreciation for his country’s role in the current ceasefire efforts.
According to a statement released by Hamas, Haneyya informed the Qatari Emir of his Movement’s approval of the ceasefire proposal that it had received from the mediators two days ago and discussed with him the details of the proposed agreement.
Haneyya also discussed with the Qatari leader the procedures needed to ensure the execution of the ceasefire deal after Hamas accepted it out of concern for its people and their interests.
The Hamas leader also phoned Iranian foreign minister Hussein Abdollahian and Omani foreign minister Badr al-Busaidi on the same day and talked with them about the proposed ceasefire agreement.
