GAZA (Palestine Foundation Information Center) In an alert detailing another night of heavy bombardment across the Gaza Strip, the UN agency assisting Palestine refugees, UNRWA, said that Gazans fleeing the southern city have had to erect shelters at the water’s edge because displacement camps are already packed at the coast.
Just weeks after people were forced to return to a devastated Khan Yunis, Israeli authorities have issued new evacuation orders for the area, the UN agency said.
“Yet again, families face forced displacement. We estimate that 250,000 people will have to flee. Even though nowhere is safe in Gaza.”
Today, the Israeli forces intensified the bombing of Khan Yunis in preparation for a new large-scale military operation as part of the ongoing genocide war.
“It’s another devastating blow to the humanitarian response here, it’s another devastating blow to the people, the families on the ground. It seems that they’ve been forcibly displaced again and again,” said UNRWA.
