GAZA (Palestine Foundation Information Center)UNRWA has said that children in the Gaza Strip spend six to eight hours a day searching for food and water, carrying heavy weights and walking long distances.
“Sanitation facilities and infrastructure are severely compromised, forcing thousands of families to rely on seawater to wash, clean and even drink,” the agency added on its X page on Saturday.
Israel, flouting a UN Security Council resolution demanding an immediate ceasefire, has been facing, for long months, international condemnation over its persistent massive attacks on Gaza.
Since October 7, 2023, more than 38,000 Palestinians have been killed, mostly women and children, and over 87,800 others injured, according to local health authorities.
Israel is also accused of genocide at the International Court of Justice, whose latest ruling ordered it to immediately halt its military operation in the southern area of Rafah, where more than 1 million Palestinians had sought refuge from the war before it was invaded on May 6.
