Hamas, GMO condemn Israel’s abuse of the bodies of Palestinian martyrs

GAZA(Palestine Foundation Information Center) The Hamas Movement and the Government Media Office (GMO) condemned in two separate statements abusing the bodies of the Palestinian martyrs, which were handed over by Israeli occupation forces (IOF) to the Gaza Strip after being held in Israel’s custody.

In a statement on Monday, Hamas described handing over more than 80 bodies of Gaza martyrs in a state of complete decomposition, which prevented medical teams from identifying them, as an unprecedented sadistic crime in human history.

Hamas stressed that the Israeli heinous violations have aggravated the suffering of the families of the martyrs and the missing in the Gaza Strip who seek to know the fate of their kidnapped children, or at least to bury their martyrs in a decent manner.

For its part, the GMO said that the Israeli occupation army disdained the bodies of 89 martyrs that were previously stolen from Gaza during the genocide, noting that the bodies were delivered as skeletons and decomposed corpses.

The GMO told SAFA news agency, that the Israeli occupation authorities handed over the bodies of the martyrs in only 35 separate shrouds, and put 13 bodies in one shroud, and another 22 bodies in another shroud. The remaining bodies were put in several coffins in a humiliating manner that disrespect the bodies of martyrs.

The GMO pointed out that over 304 days of the genocidal war in Gaza, the IOF has kidnapped more than 2,000 bodies of Gaza martyrs and the bodies of dead people which were exhumed by Israeli military bulldozers from dozens of graves in the governorates of the Gaza Strip, in violation of human rights.

Earlier on Monday, the IOF handed over to the Red Cross in Gaza, through the Karm Abu Salem crossing, 84 bodies of Gaza detainees in a state of complete decomposition.

The Ministry of Health in Gaza said that its medical teams could not take DNA samples from those bodies to know its identities and were obliged to bury them in a mass grave in Khan Yunis, without knowing any information about them.
