GAZA(Palestine Foundation Information Center) The Government Media Office (GMO) in Gaza said that the polio vaccination campaign in the Gaza Strip requires an immediate ceasefire, stressing that the continuation of the genocide war poses a real threat to civilians.
The GMO said in a statement on Saturday that the polio vaccination campaign in the Gaza Strip is scheduled to start on Sunday, in conjunction with the environmental, health and humanitarian catastrophe created by Israeli occupation army.
The GMO underscored that the vaccination campaign takes place under the supervision of the Palestinian Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip and in partnership with the World Health Organization, UNICEF and UNRWA.
The statement revealed that the campaign targets 640,000 Palestinian children in the Gaza Strip, from one day to 10 years old, benefiting more than 95% of Gaza children.
An integrated plan has been scheduled to successfully complete this campaign in all governorates and neighborhoods of the Gaza Strip, it added.
The GMO stressed the importance of the vaccination campaign, stressing the urgent need for a ceasefire to secure the movement of the children and their families from their places of residence to vaccination centers, and to ensure safety of the children, families, and the medical teams.
The GMO condemned the continuation of the Israeli war of genocide on the Gaza Strip, which has led to the polio breakout in the Gaza Strip, calling on the international community and health organizations to push for a ceasefire and halting the bloodshed against civilians and children.
