AL-KHALIL (Palestine Foundation Information Center) A group of Jewish settlers kidnapped an elderly man from Dhahiriya town south of al-Khalil, in the southern West Bank, on Sunday evening.
Local sources said that a group of settlers kidnapped the elderly man, Baji Salem Abu Sharkh, 68, while he was herding sheep in the Tayaran area, after violently attacking him.
The attack came as part of the Jewish settlers’ criminal attacks in the occupied West Bank, reflecting the increasing tension and suffering among the local population.
Nearly 206 settler attacks were carried out against Palestinians and their properties in the West Bank over the past month, according to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).
Meanwhile, two Palestinians were injured on Sunday evening, after the Israeli occupation forces opened fire at a Palestinian vehicle, south of al-Khalil.
Israeli media sources said that Israeli soldiers opened their machine gunfire at a Palestinian car for allegedly trying to run over a group of soldiers standing near the “Negohot” illegal settlement, south of the city.
