GAZA (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The Director General of the Ministry of Health in Gaza, Medhat Abbas, has said that 74% of life-saving medicines are unavailable in hospitals.
In media statements on Friday, Abbas indicated that Israeli occupation forces have been preventing the entry of medicine and food since October 7, 2023.
He underlined that 83% of medical supplies in the Strip’s hospitals are lacking, and many essential medical supplies are on the verge of running out.
Abbas noted that 60% of the medicine stockpiles in Gaza are completely empty, making medical missions extremely difficult and forcing prioritization among the most urgent critical cases.
Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli army has been waging a war of extermination with complete American support, resulting in more than 140,000 casualties, including the dead and injured, most of whom are children and women, along with massive destruction of infrastructure. The United Nations and authorities in the enclave have described the situation as an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe.
