GAZA (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The Hamas Movement said in a statement issued in Thursday it appreciates remarks by Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah after he reaffirmed “the resistance” in Lebanon will not stop supporting Gaza.
Hezbollah’s stance “is a blow to [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu and his fascist government,” Hamas said.
Lebanon’s “sacrifices”, it added, will only help the fight towards Palestine’s “liberation”.
Hamas also said that the “Israeli brutal attacks on the brotherly Lebanese people on Tuesday and Wednesday were a failed attempt to strike the support front for the Palestinian resistance in Gaza, but Hezbollah’s position thwarted those plans.”
The Movement stressed that Israel’s escalation of killings, massacres, and genocide against civilians in Palestine and Lebanon makes it a rogue entity and a real threat to the stability of the region and the world, calling on the international community to act to isolate this entity and prosecute its leaders for their war crimes.
In a televised speech, Nasrallah pledged to keep up Hezbollah’s fight against Israel until its nearly 12-month war on the Gaza Strip ends.
The Lebanese group’s leader also reiterated the only path to bring calm to the region is for Israel to also halt its assaults on the occupied West Bank.
