GAZA (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The Hamas Movement has said that the heinous massacre that was committed last night by the Israeli occupation army in Jabalia al-Balad area, north of Gaza, reflects Israeli “insistence on not stopping the US-backed genocidal war on the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.”
In a statement on Saturday, Hamas described the Israeli army’s massacre in Jabalia al-Balad as “part of its vindictive campaign against defenseless civilians after its failure to stand in the face of resistance fighters on the ground.”
“The occupation’s intensifying massacres against our people nowadays in Jabalia, north of Gaza, aim to punish them for their steadfastness on their land and their rejection of all the attempts to displace them from their homeland,” Hamas said.
“These [Israeli] terrorist crimes that continue for the second year confirm to the world that this fascist rogue entity is thirst for blood, vengeance and more genocide against our people in Gaza and the brotherly Lebanese people,” Hamas stressed.
At least 22 civilians were massacred and 90 others were injured, including women and children, on Friday night when the Israeli army bombed an entire residential block near al-Omari Mosque in Jabalia al-Balad. Many people are still buried under the rubble of the bombed homes.
