TULKAREM (Palestine Foundation Information Center) Three Palestinian citizens, including a child and a resistance commander, were martyred last night and at dawn Thursday when the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) stormed different areas of Tulkarem in the West Bank.
According to medical sources, a child called Ahmed Fahmawi and a young man died of critical injuries at dawn Thursday after an Israeli drone bombed the main plaza of Nur Shams refugee camp in Tulkarem.
A reporter for the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) said that multiple IOF vehicles and three bulldozers stormed Tulkarem City and patrolled some of its streets before heading for Nur Shams camp.
Eyewitnesses told the PIC reporter that the IOF bulldozed the road and infrastructure around the rotary of Martyr Saif Abu Labda at the main entrance of Nur Shams camp and razed the entrances of commercial stores along the main street near the camp.
They added that the IOF laid siege to the camp and clashed with local youths, amid sounds of explosions and drone overflights.
Power outages were reported in Nur Shams cam, Iktaba suburb and some areas of Tulkarem City during the IOF campaign.
Last night, special Israeli forces assassinated commander of al-Qassam Brigades Husam Bassam after infiltrating into Tulkarem refugee camp in a civilian car, which provoked fierce clashes with resistance fighters in the area.
Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, mourned its commander in Tulkarem, calling his assassination “cowardly.”
The Brigades also said that groups of its fighters in Jenin, Tulkarem and Tubas inflicted heavy losses on Israeli forces during their raids in the north of the West Bank, adding that it would disclose more information in this regard in the coming days.
