Israel continues its bloody war on Lebanon, hits Beirut’s southern suburb

BEIRUT  (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The Israeli army continued on Wednesday its bloody war on Lebanon for the 52nd consecutive day, launching dozens of raids and artillery shelling on various regions of the country along with a ground incursion into several villages in the south, facing fierce resistance from Hezbollah.

The Israeli army carried out early Wednesday nine airstrikes on Beirut’s southern suburb, following evacuation orders.

Meanwhile, Hezbollah launched rocket strikes hitting three Israeli army bases south of Tel Aviv, north of Acre, and south of Haifa, while shelling from Lebanon on the coastal city of Nahariya in northern 1948 occupied Palestine resulted in the deaths of two Israelis.

Local media reported that the Israeli raids targeted shortly after midnight the Laylaki and Haret Hreik areas in Beirut’s southern suburb.

Live broadcast footage showed fire and smoke emanating from at least three different locations in the southern suburb after explosions were heard in the area.

The Israeli raids followed evacuation warnings by the spokesman for the Israeli army, Avichay Adraee, asking, on his X account, the residents of at least three neighborhoods in the southern suburbs to evacuate their homes in preparation for being bombed.

Since Tuesday morning, the Israeli army has been launching one of the most violent raids on Beirut’s southern suburb, where columns of smoke were seen billowing over the sky of Beirut as a result of about 12 raids.

The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced on Tuesday evening the rise of the death toll from the ongoing Israeli aggression on Lebanon. The ministry explained, in a brief statement, that “the Israeli aggression on Lebanon has resulted in 3,287 martyrs and 14,000 wounded since the start of the aggression.”

The ministry further elaborated that “the death toll has risen after the martyrdom of 44 people and the injury of 88 others during the past 24 hours.”
