KUALA LUMPUR (Palestine Foundation Information Center) Malaysia premier Anwar Ibrahim has reiterated his country’s commitment to voicing support for the Palestinian people and their national cause at different international platforms and events, stressing that Malaysia will never recognize Israel under any circumstances.
In remarks to Al Jazeera Mubasher satellite channel on Sunday, Ibrahim affirmed that he came under great pressure due to his positions against Israel, but he and his country would continue to uphold such a commitment.
Ibrahim likened the path of martyred Hamas leaders Ismail Haneyya and Yehya as-Sinwar to that of the late South African leader Nelson Mandela, who fought for the liberation of his country from the apartheid regime.
Ibrahim called for expelling Israel from the United Nations, pointing out that Malaysia would soon submit a draft resolution to the General Assembly in light of the ongoing Israeli war crimes against the Palestinians.
He added that Malaysia recently submitted a request to the International Court of Justice to hold Israel accountable for its crimes in the Gaza Strip.
“We have spared no international or regional platform without raising our voice loudly in support of the Palestinian people’s rights and the establishment of their independent state,” the Malaysian premier said.
