DAMASCUS (Palestine Foundation Information Center) Israeli occupation forces arrested on Thursday evening a Syrian citizen while herding sheep in the lands of Quneitra Governorate in southern Syria.
A resident of the area, told Aljazeera Net that Israeli forces penetrated into the Syrian territory and reached the town of Al-Rafid near the border fence and arrested a 63-year-old shepherd named Mahmoud Hilal Al-Fneish, while herding the sheep.
The source added that dozens of Israeli soldiers accompanied by vehicles equipped with machine guns and armored vehicles advanced into the Syrian territory.
He pointed out that the shepherd was arrested and taken into the occupied Golan for unrevealed reasons, especially that he has never been involved in any military activities, stressing that the man was arrested before the eyes of the Syrian regime forces stationed at the nearby military points.
The Israeli army has repeatedly penetrated into Syrian territory recently especially since the beginning of the Israeli war on Lebanon.
