DOHA (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The Member of Hamas Political Bureau, Ezzat Al-Resheq, said on Friday that the International Criminal Court’s (ICC) issuance of arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his dismissed Minister of War Yoav Galant “supports the values of justice and humanity.”
He stressed that Washington’s denial of the fact that Israel is committing genocide in the Gaza Strip makes the US a partner in the Israeli aggression and war crimes being committed in the Strip.
In a historic precedent, the ICC issued arrest warrants on Thursday against both Netanyahu and Galant on charges of committing war crimes in Gaza.
Al-Resheq described the US position opposing the ICC’s decision as an “isolated position” as Washington had previously stood “alone” against the UN Security Council’s resolution which demanded an immediate end to the war of genocide in Gaza.
The Hamas official stressed that the US administration’s opposition to the ICC decision “reflects arrogance and disrespect for the international humanitarian law.”
He called on all countries of the world to cooperate with the ICC to ensure the trial of the two war criminals, Benjamin Netanyahu and Yoav Galant.
