IOF raids W. Bank areas, kidnaps several Palestinians from homes

WEST BANK (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) kidnaped last night and Monday morning a number of Palestinian citizens during raids in the West Bank, amid clashes in some areas.

According to local sources, the IOF kidnaped two young men from Aqabat Jabr refugee camp in southern Jericho.

The IOF also kidnaped one young man from Rummanah village in western Jenin and two others from Teqoa town, southeast of Bethlehem.

In Qalqilya, Israeli forces stormed different towns and villages in the east of the province, including Baqat al-Hatab town, where Israeli soldiers and snipers invaded a mosque and used it as a detention center.

At least eight citizens, including a mother and an elderly man, were kidnaped during the IOF raid in Baqat al-Hatab town.

The IOF also kidnaped photojournalist Imran Khadraj during its raid in Qalqilya City.

In al-Khalil, the IOF carried out raids on several homes in Sa’ir town in the north of the province and kidnaped a number of citizens.

Local sources in Sa’ir town said that the IOF kidnaped a father and his son as well as three other citizens, including an ex-detainee.

They added that Israeli soldiers assaulted the family of Abdullah al-Mutawar during its raid on his home before kidnaping him.

In Nablus, the IOF stormed Duma town, where they reportedly tore up copies of the holy Qur’an and detained a number of young men before releasing them.

One young man was taken prisoner before the IOF withdrew from Duma town.

Israeli forces also stormed the towns of Odala and Beita in southern Nablus and clashed with local youths.

In Ramallah, the IOF kidnaped two citizens from Qarawat Bani Zaid village, one of them suffering from a heart problem.

The IOF also stormed other areas of the West Bank and assaulted a number of citizens during raids on homes.

Since October 7, 2023, the IOF has jailed or detained over 11,800 Palestinian citizens from only the West Bank and Jerusalem, including 435 women and 775 children, according to Palestinian figures.

During the same period, the IOF kidnaped 136 Palestinian journalists, including women, from the West Bank and Gaza. 59 journalists are still in detention.

According to Palestinian organizations defending prisoners’ rights, those Palestinian detainees have been exposed to different violations during and after their detention.
