WEST BANK (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) uprooted on Monday dozens of olive trees in al-Maniya village, east of Bethlehem.
Chief of the village council Zayed Kawazbeh said that the IOF bulldozed about 150 olive trees in al-Baq’ah area of the village, particularly on the main road that connect Bethlehem to its eastern countryside.
The residents of al-Maniya village have been facing for a while growing Israeli violence and violations aimed at displacing them from their lands.
The total area of the village, including its wilderness, extends to the Dead Sea, and recently it has become a target for land theft attempts by government-backed Jewish settler groups.
Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli army has closed all the entrances of the village, making it impossible for the local residents to reach their agricultural lands and grazing areas.
Last night, a horde of settlers plowed swaths of agricultural land in Khallet Khader area in the northern Jordan Valley, which they had been seized and planted with olive trees two weeks ago.
About three months ago, settlers stole tents and property from a Palestinian community located near the illegal settlement of Mehola in the northern Jordan Valley.
