NABLUS (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) have fatally shot a Palestinian man after violently breaking into Balata refugee camp near Nablus in the West Bank on Friday morning.
The victim was identified as Mustafa Ahmed Mustafa Masha, 23, who was shot and seriously injured in the head before being pronounced dead.
Local sources reported that violent clashes erupted during the IOF raid.
Earlier Thursday evening, the IOF shot and injured a Palestinian teen with live ammunition at the entrance of the Al-Jalazoun refugee camp, north of Ramallah.
The Palestinian Red Crescent affirmed that a 16-year-old boy was shot in the thigh with live ammunition and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
The IOF stormed the camp at late hours amid heavy fire of live ammunition and tear gas canisters at local citizens and homes.
Since the start of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip on Oct. 2023, more than 800 Palestinians have been killed and thousands more injured in Israeli aggression on the West Bank, including Jerusalem.
On the other hand, Hamas leader Mahmoud Mardawi said that the Israeli occupation’s targeting and assassination of resistance fighters in the West Bank will not weaken the resistance.
In a press release issued on Thursday, Mardawi stressed that the West Bank possesses a strategic reservoir of resistance fighters and revolutionaries, and the Israeli assassinations increase their determination.
The continued targeting of the Palestinian people and their resistance is a continuation of the genocidal crimes committed by the Israeli authorities in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, he added.
