GAZA (Palestine Foundation Information Center) Member of Hamas’s political bureau Basem Naim has said that “the next day following the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip will be a Palestinian day par excellence,” reiterating his Movement’s firm position in this regard.
In a statement on Monday, Naim affirmed that Hamas would never forsake the Palestinians in Gaza and would shoulder its responsibility towards them until their suffering comes to an end.
Naim pointed out that the Egyptian leadership is keen on forming a Palestinian leadership body to manage the affairs of the Gaza Strip after the war ends, adding that the Palestinian factions always welcomed the formation of this national body.
“We were hoping and striving to reach an agreement, under Egyptian sponsorship, with the Fatah Movement and other factions,” Naim said, stressing the importance of having a Palestinian national consensus in order to stop the Israeli aggression against Gaza.
