TULKAREM (Palestine Foundation Information Center) Israeli occupation forces (IOF) withdrew from Tulkarem city and its refugee camps on Thursday, after a two-day long aggression, causing widespread destruction to the infrastructure and public property.
Local sources reported that the IOF blew up the house of the detainee Mahmoud Sleit in Tulkarem camp, destroying the infrastructure in the streets of the camp, including water, electricity, and internet networks, which led to service interruption in a large area.
Israeli occupation soldiers raided dozens of houses, amid acts of violence, searches, and abuse of citizens, detaining them in one room and subjecting them to field investigation, and turning a number of them into military barracks and sniper locations, while other groups were expelled from their homes.
Meanwhile, the IOF stormed Nur Shams refugee camp east of the city, and sent more of their vehicles and bulldozers into the camp, where they began destroying the infrastructure and citizens’ property along Nablus Street, the vicinity of the Martyr Saif Abu Labda roundabout, the entrance to Manshiya neighborhood and the center of the camp.
On Wednesday evening, a 36-year-old woman was wounded after being assaulted by the IOF in the Tulkarem camp, as the young man Thaer Shreim, a brother of a martyr, was arrested from his home in Izbat Al-Jarrad, east of the city.
For its part, Hamas said the IOF’s repeated raids on the city of Tulkarem, its camps and the accompanying crimes and destruction, “will not discourage our people to continue its confrontation and resistance of the occupation forces.”
In a statement on Thursday, the Movement’s official, Abdurrahman Shadid, said the resistance in the West Bank is an extension of the Palestinian resistance in Gaza along the path of victory and liberation.
Shadid praised the resistance of Tulkarem, its refugee camps and its factions, foremost of which is the Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, stressing that the ongoing occupation crimes will not weaken the resistance and the Palestinian people’s determination on embracing and supporting it.
