GAZA (Palestine Foundation Information Center) Video footage has revealed the tragic reality and extremely difficult humanitarian conditions faced by those trapped inside the Indonesian hospital in northern Gaza, which is under continuous Israeli aggression.
The footage broadcasted by Al Jazeera a couple of days ago showed the extensive destruction inflicted on the Indonesian hospital facilities, particularly the intensive care unit, which was subjected to direct shelling. The bombardment of the intensive care unit destroyed beds, medical equipment, and medicines that were on the shelves, making access to the unit located on the third floor extremely dangerous.
Medical sources indicate that about 23 medical staff, patients, and injured individuals, mostly women, children, and the elderly, are trapped in the hospital facing harsh humanitarian conditions amid a severe shortage of basic life necessities. The footage also revealed that those trapped had to use medical solutions as a substitute for water in cooking food after water supplies were completely cut off.
The presence of Israeli tanks around the hospital was documented, along with repeated gunfire directed at it, preventing medical staff from moving between the hospital’s rooms and departments. The destruction was not limited to the hospital but also included surrounding buildings, with video footage showing massive destruction in the vicinity of the hospital and extensive leveling operations carried out by the occupying forces, affecting entire residential blocks.
These scenes come amid the ongoing Israeli military operations in northern Gaza for over 100 days, raising fears of a possible storming of the hospital, similar to what happened at Kamal Adwan Hospital. On January 3, Israeli occupation forces stormed the Indonesian hospital and issued threats to the medical staff and patients, demanding their immediate evacuation.
The Israeli military operation in northern Gaza, which began 100 days ago, has resulted in approximately 5,000 martyrs and missing persons, 9,500 injured, and 2,600 detainees, including women and children. The genocide war waged by Israel on Gaza has continued for 464 consecutive days, leading to the martyrdom of 46,565 individuals and 109,660 injuries of varying severity, including serious and very serious injuries, since October 7, 2023, according to the latest data published by the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
