WEST BANK (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) attacked the weekly peaceful Kafr Qaddoum march, east of Qalqilya, on Friday.
The IOF stationed at the eastern side of the village fired live bullets and tear gas grenades towards the participants in the weekly anti-settlement march.
Since July 2011, the villagers of Kafr Qaddoum have been organizing the march every week to demand the opening of the main village’s road, which was closed by the IOF in 2003, and in rejection of settlement expansion.
In Nablus, a group of citizens were treated for teargas inhalation during clashes that broke out after the IOF stormed the town of Beita, south of the city. Israeli occupation soldiers fired stun and toxic tear gas grenades towards the citizens.
The town of Beita has been subjected to repetitive IOF and settlers’ attacks since the establishment of the Avitar outpost on citizens’ lands at the Subaih Summit.
Meanwhile, the IOF stormed the village of Ezbet Salman, east of Qalqilya, raided an agricultural land, installed a military barrier in the village, and stopped the vehicles of citizens for inspection.
The IOF also blocked traffic of citizens east of Qalqilya, where a military barrier was installed on the entrances of the villages of the Prophet Elias, Ematain and the Funduq. The IOF also stopped citizens’ vehicles, searched them, and verified their IDs.
For the third day in a row, the IOF has been closing the main entrance to the village of Kafr Laqif, east of Qalqilya, with an iron gate, blocking the movement of citizens, and forcing them to take alternative agricultural roads to reach the nearby cities and villages.
