GAZA (Palestine Foundation Information Center) Senior Hamas official Nahed al-Fakhouri has said that the second phase of the prisoner swap deal will start next Saturday, January 25.
In a statement on Monday, Fakhouri explained that next Saturday, the Palestinian resistance would submit the names of the Israeli captives who would be released, while the Israelis would also provide a list containing the names of the Palestinian prisoners on the same day.
Fakhouri affirmed that the prisoner exchange would take place according to what had been agreed upon during the first phase of the deal.
The Hamas official added that the second prisoner exchange would start on Sunday, January 26, stressing that the resistance would continue working on making further achievements regarding the release of Palestinian prisoners.
This month, the Hamas Movement and the Israeli occupation regime agreed to a three-phase ceasefire that could bring an end to the 15-month genocidal war on the Gaza Strip. The ceasefire came into effect on Sunday with Hamas releasing three Israeli captives. Israel also released 90 Palestinian women and children.
