OCCUPIED JERUSALEM (Palestine Foundation Information Center) Inhabitants of Kafr Aqab in northern occupied Jerusalem said that they would launch a general strike on Sunday in protest at Israeli humiliating and repressive measures against them.
They said in a statement on Friday that the decision was in retaliation to the Israeli army’s closure of all main roads in addition to the Israeli policy of marginalizing of and racist discrimination against the Jerusalemites.
The statement, which said that the Israeli measures target the inhabitants’ basic rights, emphasized that the inhabitants would not remain silent for long while their rights are being violated.
It demanded an immediate end to such measures and treating the Jerusalemites justly in a way ensuring their rights of movement and work in dignity.
The Israeli occupation forces have been closing main roads and besieging Palestinian villages in northern West Bank for the past week after the start of the release of Palestinian prisoners in accordance with the prisoners’ exchange deal with Hamas Movement.
