GAZA (Palestine Foundation Information Center) A high-ranking Hamas delegation arrived in Cairo on Monday evening, saying it aimed to discuss the implementation of all three phases of the ongoing ceasefire and prisoner exchange deal.
The delegation includes senior leader Mohammed Darwish and other prominent members of its leadership council and negotiating team.
Hamas said that meetings with Egyptian officials will focus on ensuring progress in the ceasefire’s implementation and addressing any challenges in the ongoing exchange of captives and Palestinian prisoners.
The Hamas delegation will also meet with Palestinian prisoners released under the ceasefire’s six-week first phase that began just over a week ago.
For his part, Hamas leader Basem Naim said in media statements that the Palestinian people can rebuild the Gaza Strip, despite the challenges they face.
He stressed that the resistance would not give the Israeli occupation any opportunity to thwart the ceasefire agreement, stressing that the Palestinian resistance and people would not accept any non-Palestinian administration of the Gaza Strip.
