JAKARTA (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The Dewan Masjid Indonesia (DMI) or the Indonesian council of mosques has decided to build 100 mosques in Gaza Strip.
Jusuf Kalla, the DMI chairman and former vice chairman of the president of Indonesia, said that the DMI is to start with building ten permanent mosque in the beleaguered enclave.
He said in a statement a few days ago that the Israeli aggression on Gaza had destroyed one thousand mosques, highlighting the importance of restoring the spiritual life in Gaza.
Kalla said that a number of those mosques are expected to be ready for prayer by the holy month of Ramadan, expected to start on March 1st, 2025.
