GAZA (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that the first batch of patients and injured individuals will begin traveling through the Rafah land crossing starting Saturday, February 1.
The ministry said in a press release on Friday that patients and their companions will be contacted by phone to arrange travel procedures according to the approved list from the concerned parties.
It mentioned that buses will be prepared to head towards the crossing under the sponsorship of the World Health Organization.
The opening of the Rafah crossing comes as part of a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas, under Egyptian, Qatari, and American patronage.
Israel had closed the Rafah crossing and destroyed large parts of it following the invasion of Rafah on May 7 of last year, and since that time, the crossing has remained closed.
