SALFIT (Palestine Foundation Information Center) Israeli occupation forces (IOF) stormed Marda village in Salfit, northern West Bank on Sunday, and closed the Al-Hamra military checkpoint in the northern Jordan Valley.
Local sources reported that the IOF invaded the northeastern area of Marda village, north of Salfit, amid the firing of sound bombs. Eyewitnesses stated that the occupation forces raided the home of citizen Walid Abda and searched the phones of its residents. They then stormed an aluminum factory owned by citizen Mohannad Jamal Abda and confiscated surveillance camera recordings.
On another note, IOF closed the Al-Hamra military checkpoint also on Sunday. Local sources indicated that the IOF closed the checkpoint to civilian movement in both directions suddenly, causing a traffic jam.
The IOF had set up the Al-Hamra military checkpoint at a junction connecting the cities of the West Bank with the central, southern, and northern Jordan Valley.
In a related context, the occupation forces stormed the village of Al-Nasariya and positioned themselves at the main street. Local sources reported that the IOF invaded the village with several vehicles while firing in the air.
Since the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip took effect on January 19, the Israeli occupation army has intensified its military measures in the West Bank, erecting checkpoints and iron gates at the entrances to Palestinian villages and cities.
The number of military checkpoints and iron gates established by the IOF in the West Bank has reached 898, including 18 iron gates set up since the beginning of this year, 2025, and 146 iron gates established after October 7, 2023, according to the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission.
