GAZA (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The Hamas Movement has commended Jordan and Egypt for opposing US president Donald Trump’s plan to relocate Palestinians from the Gaza Strip.
In a statement on Wednesday, Hamas stated that the stance voiced by the two Arab countries affirmed the presence of an Arab plan to rebuild Gaza without displacing its residents.
Hamas highlighted Jordan’s stance as a “reflection of its longstanding opposition to resettlement and alternative homeland schemes that aim to obliterate the Palestinian people’s identity and end their national cause.”
Hamas also expressed appreciation for all the Arab and international voices that rejected any plan to expel the Palestinians from their land or liquidate their national rights.
The Movement reiterated that the Palestinian people would remain adherent to their homeland and would never accept any plans aimed at displacing them from their historical land and undermining their legitimate rights.
On Tuesday evening, Egypt announced a plan for Gaza’s reconstruction while its population remains on their land.
Similarly, Jordanian foreign minister Ayman Safadi asserted that there was a joint Egyptian-Palestinian-Jordanian plan to rebuild Gaza without relocating its residents.
