CAIRO (Palestine Foundation Information Center) A senior delegation of the Hamas Movement arrived in the Egyptian capital on Wednesday to follow up on the ceasefire agreement in Gaza Strip, which was reached with joint Egyptian-Qatari-American mediation.
Hamas said in a terse statement that Khalil al-Hayya, the head of Hamas Movement in Gaza, arrived in Cairo at the head of a delegation and started talks with Egyptian officials to follow up on the ceasefire agreement and the exchange of prisoners.
Abu Obeida, the spokesman of Hamas’s armed wing the Qassam Brigades, had announced last Monday that there will be no release of a new batch of Israeli captives on Saturday 15/2/2025, due to Israeli violations of the ceasefire.
He added in a statement on Telegram that the delay in releasing Israeli captives will be pending further notice and until Israel ends its violations and make up for the delay in certain obligations of the ceasefire agreement. He further asserted commitment to the resistance’s part of the deal.
