TULKAREM (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The Israeli occupation army carried out, on Thursday morning, massive demolitions in the Nur Shams refugee camp, east of Tulkarem in the West Bank, targeting 17 buildings comprised of 50 housing units.
These demolitions are part of an ongoing Israeli military operation in the northern West Bank, which has resulted in significant displacement and destruction.
Local sources said that the Israeli army carried out the demolitions after forcing many families to leave their homes in the camp in recent days.
Reports said that on Wednesday, some families were granted entry into the camp by the Israeli occupation forces (IOF). This allowed them to take from their homes as many of their belongings as they could before the demolitions took place.
Later on the same day, the IOF prevented other residents from reaching their homes to pack their belongings and opened fire at them. Luckily, no one was hurt in the shooting attack.
