International Palestine Conference demands Quds Day official celebration in Pakistan 

Karachi  (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The third annual International Palestine Conference was organized at a local hotel in Karachi under the auspices of the Palestine Foundation Pakistan (PLF), in which it was demanded from the government to celebrate last Friday of Ramadan (Jumaatul-Wida)  as Quds Day at the official level to express solidarity with Palestine and it was appealed to the public across the country to continue boycotting American and Israeli products.
A large number of prominent political figures, diplomats, scholars and  intellectuals participated in the third International Palestine Conference.
The Conference began with the keynote address of PLF Pakistan Secretary General Dr. Sabir Abu Maryam, in which he welcomed diplomats from Iran, Iraq, Malaysia and Russia, leaders of political and religious parties, scholars and intellectuals, and other distinguished guests.
Dr. Sabir Abu Maryam called for a nationwide boycott of Israeli products and for the Pakistani government to celebrate Quds Day at the national level.
The conference was addressed by Hamas leader Dr. Naji Sheri, Liaquat Baloch, leader of Jamaat-e-Islami, Hassan Noorian, Consul General of Iran, Harman Hardianta, Consul General of Malaysia, Dr. Maher Mujhid, Consul General of Iraq, and a Russian diplomat, as well as Senator Saleem Zia, senior leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, Pakistan Peoples Party leader and Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Sindh, Engineer Taimur Ali, Deputy Parliamentary Leader of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan, Sindh Assembly, Taha Ahmed, Member of Sindh Assembly, Adil Askari, President of the Majlis-e-Wahdat Muslimeen Sindh, Allama Baqir Zaidi, expert on international affairs, Dr. Talat Wazarat, President of the Sindh High Court Bar Association, Barrister Sarfaraz Hetro and others.
The conference was also attended by the patron members of the Palestine Foundation, Muslim Pervez, Mahfouz Yar Khan, Major Qamar Abbas, Younis Buneri, Pir Azhar Hamdani, Bashir Saduzai.
Hamas leader Dr. Naji thanked Pakistan, the Pakistani people and Palestine Foundation Pakistan Secretary General Dr. Sabir Abu Maryam for raising their voice in favor of Palestine. He said that one day Al-Aqsa Mosque will be free and we will all pray there together.
Jamaat-e-Islami leader Liaquat Baloch said that no unilateral decision regarding the future of Palestine and Kashmir will be acceptable without including the people of Palestine and Kashmir. He said that Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah always stood in favor of the Palestinian people and declared the existence of Israel illegitimate. He added that any compromise on the Palestinian cause is tantamount to treason.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Saleem Zia reiterated Pakistan’s determination to remain steadfast in the goal of the Quaid-e-Azam to liberate the people of Palestine from Israeli occupation.
Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Sindh and Pakistan Peoples Party leader Engineer Taimur Ali reaffirmed his party’s long-standing stance on Palestine. He said that PPP Chairman and former Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has always raised his voice in favor of the Palestinian people. He added that Israel has suffered billions of dollars in economic losses as a result of the global boycott campaign.

President of MWM Sindh Maulana Baqir Abbas Zaidi said that the existence of Israel is a violation of international laws. He said that the events of October 7 th thwarted all attempts by world powers to legitimize the Israeli occupation. He also said that Palestinians released from Israeli captivity often return with signs of violence, while Israeli prisoners released from Hamas returned unharmed.
Consul General of Iran Hassan Noorian said that attempts were made to convince the Palestinians that the Abrahamic Accords would bring economic benefits to them, but Israeli brutality after October 7th exposed all these conspiracies. He appreciated the sacrifices of the resistance front and especially the leaders of Hamas, Hezbollah, including Yahya Sinwar, Ismail Haniyeh and Hassan Nasrallah. He added that the Palestinian people will not accept the US plan under which they will be forcibly transferred to Jordan and Egypt.
Malaysian Consul General Harman Hardianta reiterated his government’s unwavering support for Palestine. He assured that Malaysia will continue to provide humanitarian assistance to the Palestinian people and the reconstruction of Gaza.
MQM Pakistan Deputy Parliamentary Leaders Taha Ahmed and Adil Askari said that the Palestine issue is not just an issue of any political party but a humanitarian issue on which everyone should raise their voice.
Senior expert on International affairs Dr. Talat Wazaret termed the events of October 7 as a reaction against Israeli atrocities. He warned that imperialist forces are trying to weaken the unity of Muslims by fomenting sectarianism.
President of Sindh High Court Bar Association  Barrister Sarfaraz also expressed his support for the Palestinian people.
The seminar concluded with a call for Pakistani citizens to actively participate in boycotting Israeli products, strengthen diplomatic efforts for Palestinian rights, and demand more steps from the government in support of Palestine.
At the end of the event, Awami National Party leader and patron of Palestine Foundation Pakistan, Younis Buneri, thanked the participants.
Later, an iftar was also organized for the participants. Representative of other religions, including Hindus, Christian and Sikh were also attended the conference.
